Remember, these are just summer rates and when everyone heads back to school in September, rooms will start from $435 a night.
If you can't snag a room here, you can at least pop into the ground-floor Restaurant (either that's its name or they haven't settled on one yet) this week. The concept of the menu is to bring classic New York dishes and ingredients to the table, rather than sending you off all over town to find them. In other words, there are goodies here from places like Katz’s Delicatessen, Sullivan Street Bakery, and the Pickle Guys.
Down in the cellar, The Bar will serve small and medium plates along with handcrafted cocktails including the hotel's signature drink, the Cellar Door. The space is full of nooks and crannies to nestle into, but we'll be looking for one closest to the Cheese Room.
We'll bring you our take on all things Andaz 5th Avenue as soon as we find ourselves inside. But in the meantime, if you stay at the hotel or drop into the restaurant or bar, do let us know what you thought.
