San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina Pimps Its Facade Out for Comic-Con
San Diego is busy decorating the city to welcome Comic-Con on July 22. Today at the Gaslamp Trolley Station downtown, signs will be installed in Klingon, for you Trekkies out there. Meanwhile, the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina is getting itself ready for the party with a big ad with the word "Skyline" emblazoned on its facade.
It isn't as fun as the Hilton San Diego Bayfront's Scott Pilgrim advertecture, but it's certainly eye-catching. If you're curious about the mysterious one-word ad on the Marriott's 25-story tower, Comic-Con ticket-holders can visit the July 23 panel dedicated to Skyline, a film from Universal that will be released on November 12.
The sci-fi thriller's cast—Donald Faison (Scrubs), Eric Balfour (24), David Zayas (Dexter), Scottie Thompson (Star Trek), and Brittany Daniel (Club Dread)—as well as director-producers Colin and Greg Strause will be in attendance to unveil a trailer. The Los Angeles-set flick is about an alien force wiping off the human population.
The Marriott has a prime spot adjacent to Comic-Con's convention center venue. And the hotel will host some official events, including anime screenings and the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival. It might be a good place to hang out in hopes of getting a glimpse of Angelina Jolie.
