We heart hotels that throw in tech freebies. So we have to give some love to the The Sax Chicago for allowing guests to use their smartphones or laptops to print out their boarding passes or whatever else they might need. Even better, they can print eight pages for free.

The Sax's using PrintSpots, which permits people to use their iPhones, laptops, etc. to print to a designated spot in the hotel without having to plug in a foreign device into your computer.

To print from your laptop, you have to upload your documents to the hotel's PrintSpots website to receive a release code. And to get a release code for your smartphone, you must e-mail your document as an attachment to a designated Sax Chicago PrintSpots e-mail address. That confidential code allows you to retrieve documents from the hotel's printer.

Mobile printing is only the latest tech perk at the hotel. The Sax prides itself on being in the forefront of geeky amenities. It has a sixth-floor technology lounge stocked with video games like Beatles Rock Band, laptops, Microsoft Zune MP3 players—does anybody even use those?—Xbox consoles and HD TVs.
