We usually travel with our laptop, netbook, Blackberry and iPod Touch, so when it comes to in-room Internet, we're all set with free WiFi. But in the past we have been known to use one of those dinky TV + keyboard setups to go online in our hotel room. Since they have free and fast WiFi throughout the hotel, we were surprised to see one of these systems at Andaz 5th Avenue. But then we realized that this was a Roomlinx system—and offers way more than your run-of-the-mill internet access.

Here's our photo gallery tour of some of the Roomlinx features.

When you first arrive, you have a free, 15-minute trial to explore what's on offer—such as magazines, online travel booking sites, hotel services, stock prices, and access to Pandora, iTunes and Netflix.

We used the trial period to scoot around the system and we liked what we saw. If you forgot your iPod or computer, Roomlinx would be incredibly helpful. For entertainment as well as boring things like printing out a fresh copy of that spreadsheet you're working on.

Once the trial is up, you're prompted to either pay $15 for full access to everything on the menu for 24 hours—including as many movies as you like (even porn)—or go with the free version, which just gives you access to the hotel services and local listings.

Have you used the Roomlinx system at your hotel? Give us your review in the comments below.
