Bill Marriott and Ian Schrager Find a Home for their Edition Hotel in Miami

The site of the new Miami Edition Hotel
Just months away from opening their first hotel in Waikiki, Edition Hotels are already putting plans in place for their much-talked about Miami Hotel.
The Miami Herald reports that closed Seville Beach Hotel at 2901 Collins Avenue will undergo renovations and reopen as the Miami Edition.
Marriott spokesman John Wolf said the South Florida hotel, which sits on nearly three acres of beachfront property, is expected to open in three years after significant renovations.
So that means that the old South Beach Marriott will not turn into an Edition. But the Marriott brand will have quite a presence in South Beach, especially with their two new hotels opening in October. And for Ian Schrager, well, it will be his time in the South Beach sun again after many years of absence.
As for the hotel, the location is way north up on Collins Avenue, even further up than W South Beach and the Gansevoort. We like this because that's means your far away from the craziness of South Beach but then again, you may have to fight some traffic just to go out at night. Oh what are we saying? It's always trafficky in South Beach.
That's all we know for now on the Miami Edition but if you've got your scoop, send it to us or put your thoughts in comments below.
