Hilton to Feature 'Top Chef' Dish on Its Menus
If you salivated while watching last week's Top Chef room service challenge, you will be able to taste the winning dish soon. The Hilton
is working to put Kelly Liken's braised beef short rib, chèvre-scented polenta, balsamic-infused beef jus, sauteed mushrooms and herb salad on its room service menu soon.
On the show, Hilton's vice president of restaurant concepts, told the cheftestants that the company was looking for a new signature dish that was healthy yet sophisticated, easily executable and able to be made quickly. The dishes also had to fare well traveling, since it will be featured on the room service menu.
Plus, it had to palate-pleasing to the Hilton's globetrotting clientele and be a dish with enough appeal to serve at hotels all over the country.
Top Chef competitor Kelly Liken created the yummy-looking short rib dish with help from her teammate Andrea Curto-Randazzo. Liken's eponymous Restaurant Kelly Liken in Vail, Colorado, specializes in seasonal regional cuisine, like rack of lamb with eggplant caviar, feta-dotted faro, pickled red onion-fennel salad and cucumber raita.
Hilton officials say the dish is coming soon, and we'll update you as soon as we find out.
