For the rest of the week, we'll be focusing on the latest news out of Londontowne. Got a hotel we should check out or know of any tawdry London hotel scoop? Or better yet, got the skinny on where all the WAGs hang out? Tip us off.

After finding out the W London had put back its opening date yet again, we were excited to discover another hotel opening in the neighbourhood. The St John Hotel, located just off Leicester Square is the latest project from chef Fergus Henderson and business partner Trevor Gulliver. The team behind the Michelin-starred St John Restaurant in Smithfield have taken over the former Manzi's restaurant and hotel.

The property has been completely refurbished from floor to ceiling and relaunches as the St John Hotel in October. The hotel website is set to be up and running soon with reservations being taken from late July, which should be about this week.

Matthew Rivett has been appointed as the general manager and joins from the Ritz. Henderson will oversee the kitchen together with head chef Tom Harris, who will leave the iconic St John in Smithfield.

The property will have 15 rooms, including a top floor suite, a first floor bar and 70 cover restaurant serving food until 2am. The hotel’s working phrase was “mini grand, urban hut” and you can tell why from the press shots. Also, peekaboo bathrooms!

Room rates will start from £200. Trevor calls it a “hotel where people actually want to eat” and we can’t think of anything better, great food, great hotel rooms and opening on time! A winning combination in our books.
