Being the jerk on the cellie in a nice restaurant is bad. But being the jerk who shouts top-volume into his iPhone while poolside in some uber-blissful Hawaiian resort—well, that reaches a whole new level of obnoxious.

The Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele is waaay too tactful to call you out for being obnoxious, and thus has come up with one of the cutest tech-friendly amenities we’ve ever seen: "TLC for PDA." Relax your claw-like grip from your BBerry or iPhone (or Palm or Samsung generic if you’re not a gear geek.) And behold, in its place will appear a chilled fresh Blackberry Mojito, or iPom vodka martini!

A poolside masseuse will appear by your side to relieve your Carpal Tunnel syndrome with a nice complimentary hand massage. Should you decide you can get down with this sort of poolside pampering, upgrade to a coconut foot rub, or a back and neck rub.

Meanwhile, your PDA will be getting a rubdown of its own—or rather, a surface cleaning and a shine, plus a much-needed battery recharge session--courtesy of the pool attendants.

You’ll know it’s safe (and dry!), but you won’t be compelled to check messages 14 times or answer its every ringtone. And your neighbors will be able to stand you once again.

TLC for PDA is offered hourly as part of the poolside amenities. Covered devices currently include the iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, Kindle, iPod and about six other devices. Staff are procuring more power cords to meet guests’ special requests—give them a heads-up to find yours before you arrive. Hand massages are complimentary; other poolside treatments and PDA-inspired drinks like the Blackberry Mojito carry an additional charge.
