Breaking News: The Chatwal Will Open on August 1

We admit that when it comes to the Chatwal Hotel, we have been, in the words of one wise Cher Horowitz, "way harsh". But that's only because we have been waiting FOREVER for the hotel to open. (Ok, only three years since December 2006 when it was to be called the Lamb's Club and we still thought Vikram Chatwal had a hand in it. He doesn't, this is his dad's hotel.)

The other day we posted new bedroom shots of the hotel and while we were digging on the room's manly design and amenity closet, we were still exasperated that there was no opening date.

Not anymore.

Today we have word that the hotel will soft-open within a month before flinging its doors open to the (high-paying) public on August 1.

This is what the hotel's rep said:

The hotel will open mid-July with overnight stays by invite only through the end of the month, open for guest reservations from August 1.

What great news to end the week on! Now, how do we get one of these "invite-only" stays? Hmm....

Worth the Wait!

Will it be worth the wait?? ABSOLUTELY! I recently had a "sneak peak" tour (amidst a small army of workers) and all I can say is, when those doors finally "fling open,"  I'm betting on The Chatwal to raise the bar for luxury boutique hotels in the city! The place is amazing, like nothing else I've seen in a long time. Over the top in attention to detail around every corner. I doubt I'll get an invite to the "soft open", but I'm sure sending people their way at "showtime."
