The Thompson Toronto's Rooms Are Now Open—But Nothing Else Is

We already gave you a peek into the new Thompson Toronto, but now you can go and check it out for yourself. The King West Village hotel quietly had its soft opening yesterday, and you can now book your reservations there.

Thing is, only the rooms are available. You'll have to go outside of the hotel for a meal or a cocktail, since the restaurants and bars won't open until later in the month. (Which is a classic Thompson opening strategy.)

So if you head to the hotel anytime soon, you won't get to taste the upscale Italian cuisine at Scarpetta, classic diner food at the 24-hour Counter or sushi at Wabora. Three bars will also be on the property, including one on the rooftop near an infinity-edge pool that overlooks the city skyline, which may be a bit chilly for the city's cold climes. The hotel, which is across from Victoria Memorial Square, will also have an outdoor skating rink. Someday.

If you want to check out the first Thompson hotel outside of the United States, rooms start at $245 a night.
