Cassa Hotel and Residences Will Open August 1 at $279 a Night
Hmm, could our Sexy Six list of Hot NYC Hotel Openings this summer become a Sexy Seven? It sure looks that way, with today's news that the Cassa Hotel and Residences will open on August 1st.
We last strolled by Cassa in early May and found there was not much opening action going on, despite having promised an April opening date. But this time, we think the Desires Hotels property in Midtown-- the one with the interesting windows designed by architect Enrique Norten--could really truly open on August 1.
When it does, here's what to expect: Both the hotel-room renderings and the showroom for the residences in the building show that the rooms will have a European feel—simple, clean lines and luxurious details—such as cream ottomons and black leather studded headboards.
Linens in all rooms will be by Frette, and the bath amenities by Angelo Caroli. The in-room snack bars will be stocked by Dean and DeLuca, and there will be art books from Rizzoli and Taschen available to peruse or purchase and take home.
Cassa's restaurant, 1945, won't be open for the August 1st unveiling but should make its debut in the fall.
We'll have more intel on what Cassa has to offer soon but in the meantime, add that date to your Hotel Diary, and also note down the introductory rates, which will start at $279 a night.
