You know how you can't get into the Rose Sessions at the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar? And how miserable it is to read about who was there and how much famous fun they had in The New York Post a few days later? Well, now Mr. Schrager has decided to let you in for a sneak peek at his famous guests and the other cool creative types who are welcome at such shindigs. Virtually, anyway.

Yes, the GPH is the latest hotel to jump on the hotel blog bandwagon but of course with a star-studded clientele, it actually has fodder to share beyond cheesy contests and news about room discounts. (We're pretty sure we'll never see anything of the kind on this blog.)

If you want an electronic glimpse at all the coolness you can't experience in real life, follow this link and bookmark away.

The latest post is a small gallery of the fabulous folks who dropped by the GPH to see Sean Lennon play at the after-premiere party for the movie Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead. There is also a video clip of a post-performance interview with Sean Lennon and his partner in music and love, Charlotte Kemp Muhl.

There's a similar gallery from the Rufus Wainwright Rose Sessions show we (cough cough) were too busy to get to couple of months back, and some other artsy bits and pieces advertising friends' gallery shows and the like.

We'll be clicking back soon to check out the promised video of Eva Longoria impersonating Victoria Beckham's British accent (posted by Doug Keeve, director of the documentary Hotel Gramercy Park) and and interview with uberchef Danny Meyer.

On the business end, there are links to reviews and menus and general information about the hotel, and a reservation system built right into the blog.

It looks good, it looks cool, and it has the overall feeling of making you feel like a bit of a loser for not rubbing shoulders with Drew Barrymore and Scarlett Johansson.

In other words, it's just like the hotel. Well done, Ian!

I'm completely baffled by why they decided to do this now. I guess to promote the Rose Bar Sessions and other celeb events. Anyways, I loved the photos from the events but some of the other blog content needs work. Most noticeably, the Flowerbomb 5th Anniversary post was actually written about on HotelChatter here a few months ago and GPH didnt even mention that the pastry chefs worked at Le Meurice. I guess that means we can expect no future mentions of other hotels either.

Gramercy Park Hotel = classic marketing

I have always been impressed with the style of the Gramercy Park Hotel. The rooms are well designed and the common areas interesting. We recently chose to offer the hotel and the restaurant as part of our 24 Hours of NYC Luxury Sweepstakes. Check it out at bit.ly/NYCLuxury
