We'd probably stay here even if the thatched roof was coming apart, Tahiti is that beautiful, but it's nice to know that that the upgrades are keeping pace with the steep rates for rooms here.
Both renovations are led by interior designer Didier Lefort, and highlights include new Polynesian touches and an illy espresso bar at Le Méridien Tahiti, and colorful new furniture and an Ecological Center for Le Méridien Bora Bora.
The Bora Bora resort will close while the work is underway, so don't go planning your South Pacific getaway between October 1st and January 22, 2011.
The good news is, that gives you plenty of time to start saving. Bungalows range from USD $419 to 1,239 a night.
