HotelChatter Adds Foursquare and Twitter To Hotel Pages

June 21, 2010 at 5:16 PM | by | Comments (0)

Our mission is to always be on the case of where you should stay when you leave. For HotelChatter, that has always meant taking a unique, holistic view at the worldwide hotel scene. Our editors are constantly digging up deals, openings, tips, reviews and anything and everything to do with hotels in order to help keep you in the know.

Furthermore, our hotel mavens have always done their part commenting, reviewing hotels, sending us tips and photos, and some of these folks even graduate to become hotel spies (if you think you have what it takes, you know where we live).

Twitter and Foursquare Added To New Hotel Social Tab
Lately we have found that there is a ton of hotel information flowing on both Twitter and Foursquare. So of course, we did what any good publication would do and followed the story. As of today all of our hotel pages are sporting a new tab called Hotel Social. If you peek under this tab you will see any and all social info we have on that hotel. Basically, that means you will see the official hotel's Twitter feed, along with the @replies to said hotel, as well as the latest Foursquare check-ins and who the mayor of each particular hotel is.

Foursquare Tips Added To Reviews For Each Hotel
If you are squarely in the camp of thinking this "social" stuff is for charlatans and ego-centrics, check this out: We have also added Foursquare tips under the Partner Reviews tab, where you can see what the folks who have been to the hotel say about each hotel the moment they hit "update" on their phones.

What We Have Found Using Hotel Social on HotelChatter
Already we have learned that more than one person thinks Aria has the best hotel WiFi coverage on the strips. Almost every Foursquare user who checks into a hotel in Vegas says that particular hotel has "the longest check-in line in Vegas" -- they are all long when the New York City flights land each day folks.

Want more?

*If you want to get on the guest list for any of the Hard Rock Las Vegas venues, Brandon H says just give him a shout.

*The guy to ask about that rumored Airstream at the Standard NYC is John S., he is the current Mayor.

*And Chris T. tells us that while the Panorama Suite at Hotel Vitale in SF is worth the splurge, but "avoid the douchebags @ happy hour downstairs."

Oh, and no Real Househusband of NYC Simon van Kempen is not the Mayor of Hotel Chandler, however, just for fun, and because the hotel doesn't appear to have a Twitter feed, we added Simon's Twitter feed to the Hotel Social tab. Enjoy.

Looking for a specific hotel? The easiest way at the moment, is to go to our search (or Google) and put in the Hotel Name + HotelChatter.

And just in case y'all are quiet in the comments section on this one, we are going to give ourselves a big pat on the back for being, we believe, the first hotel site to integrate Foursquare.

See? This hotel social thing is going to be fun. We will do all the heavy lifting for you, but we need you, as always to be active in chiming in with comments, sending tips, and being all around excellent hotel mavens, as per usual.
