The Carlton to Escape Country for Something a Little More French

The Carlton Hotel had a trying time with its Country restaurant last year. It was closed, then it was open again and then it was something totally different. Now the hotel has put its faith in San Francisco-based French chef Laurent Manrique who will open a new restaurant and lounge in the space called, Millesime.
NY Times reports:
It will combine a ground-floor lounge, a second-floor brasserie and a cocktail area in what had been a Champagne bar. It will open in stages, starting in the late fall.
For now, Country remains open during the week for breakfast, lunch and dinner and brunch and dinner on the weekends. It is also available for in-room dining as well. But we're not so sure the hotel even likes the Country restaurant. Judging from its recent Facebook activity, Carlton has been plugging numerous places to drink and eat nearby, but no mention of Country itself. We hope Laurent can bring something to the table that the hotel will actually want to promote.
