Earlier this year they were making inroads on the London market, but now Kempinksi are turning their attentions east – yesterday was the opening of Kempinksi Hotel River Park Bratislava, in Slovakia.
We tend to think of Kempinski hotels as historic properties but this one is a departure from the norm – a brand new build in a new development – the River Park, on the bank of the Danube, under Bratislava Castle and within walking distance of the Old Town.
The rooms look pretty nice but what we’re especially excited about is the rooftop spa and fitness center – 1500 m2 of pools, saunas and steamrooms looking out over the Danube. Sweet!
The official opening is June 17, but the hotel is offering special rates until August 31 and then again between November 1 and March 31 – double rooms will cost €199 (£167/$243) including tax and, happily, spa access. Looks like now’s the time to go to Bratislava.
