It may not be the real Dream South Beach yet—'Day Dream South Beach,' perhaps?—but the first half of the Vikram Chatwal Hotels project is up and running under the name Palmer House—and it sounds like a pretty good deal.

With the hotel's Grand Opening Special, a standard room with a King bed is just $109.20 a night. (A Junior Suite is $130.20 a night.) Not bad for South Beach, especially in such a central location on Collins and 11th Street.

The price even sounds decent for the July 4th weekend, with rooms starting at $178 a night.

Since this is just a temporary Dream set-up (a mirage?), services are limited, which helps explain the price. But even without a restaurant and pool, you can't scoff at a brand new hotel room for a little over a hundred bucks—not here at the beach.

Early reviews on TripAdvisor noted some growing pains but also commented on the beauty of the rooms "with great lighting controls to create several different moods, luxury bedding, flat screen TV, and stylish decor."

Summer in South Beach may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you can stand the heat, we say go now and grab one of these rooms—before the rest of the hotel is completed and the dream rates are a distant memory.

Palmer House is a beauty... already!

Toured property two days ago... Palmer House has 45 rooms all very nice... two "sun rooms" and penthouse -which come each with its private rooftop- aren't finished but already look amazing. Rooftop pool crrently in construction in the Tudor building... I loved it and so will you!! Can wait for this whole Dream thing to finally unveil and razzle dazzle us... I wish they'd let me take pics but they obviously know better lol
