The Berkeley in London Gets iPads, But Only in the Suites
And the iPad revolution of the hotel industry continues apace. This time it’s the turn of the posh Berkeley Hotel in London which is bringing them in for guests.
Not all guests, mind – because not all guests are created equal. The iPads will only go for the richies staying in the suites, and only specific suites – the Conservatory, Berkeley or Chelsea suites.
if you are one of those richies, though, you’ll get access to your own iPad for your entire stay, on which you can read the paper at breakfast (jammy fingers + iPad = disaster waiting to happen, surely), check out tips from the concierge and play pre-loaded games.
For the rest of us plebs, we can but hope that the hotel will be rolling out the project for the rest of us soon. According to the Times, the hotel has said it’ll have its own apps up and running by the end of the year, and they’ll want them to find a bigger audience, no? (Jammy) fingers crossed.
In the mean time, one of the iPad suites will cost you £1,950 next weekend. May as well book a standard room (£319) and buy yourself an iPad, no?
