Sipping Tequila Sangria in The Hudson Hotel's 'Private Park'
In continuing our unofficial hotel bar-hopping series....
Yesterday we showed off our room at The Hudson Hotel but really, if you stay here you're not going to want to spend all of your time in the cramped hotel rooms. You will want to explore the city! And if the weather's nice, hang outside. Fortunately, you can do that at the Hudson too.
The hotel is a block from Columbus Circle and Central Park South but you can relax in the hotel's own "Private Park", a terrace area just behind the check-in desk. The "park" has a sort of Alice in Wonderland feel with giant watering can, oversized tree planters, daybed seating and a mix of antique and modern furniture including a table and chairs that look like tree trunks.
And unlike Central Park, you can sip on Tequila Sangria cocktails while you kick back and relax. A single drink is $16 but if there's a group, you can order the pitcher for $65. And you may want to book a hotel room after that too.
Not a fan of Sangria? There are plenty of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to order. WiFi does work out here but it has to be billed to your room. Perhaps you can convince one of the sexy servers (who wear sheer black tunics over black bikini tops) to give you a special access code.
The Hudson has also opened its Sky Terrace on the 15th floor for the season as well. It's only open to hotel guests and offers the same sort of respite as the Private Park but with NYC skyline views.
