Beachfront Hotels in Miami May Not Be So Fun This Weekend

This is what the beach will look like if Miami cracks down on hotels serving booze on the beach.

The Miami Herald is reporting that beachfront hotels in this sexy city will have to crack down on their alcohol sales, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. Apparently, hotels are not allowed to sell or serve customers alcoholic drinks on the beach.

Many hotels sell alcohol through oceanfront concession stands and hotel bar and restaurant waiters who bring drinks to guests sitting on the beach, but even that is illegal according to city laws.

The city's laws grant alcohol sales on public land only if the city manager or city commission have given a vendor permission.

So if you're looking to get tipsy on Miami Beach this weekend, either invest in some red Silo cups or stay poolside. Oh and speaking of pools, it looks like neighbors have finally had enough of the constant partying at the Not Really a Gansevoort Hotel. Their special permit for their rooftop lounge is being re-evaluated after neighbors complained the parties were "noisy and disruptive."
