Guess The Hotel Bar Across From the Broadway Theater Crowd

May 27, 2010 at 9:25 AM | by | Comments (3)

There we were, at a friend’s birthday party in a hotel bar, when all of a sudden we spied masses of people filing onto the street across the road. Knee-jerk paranoia aside, we quickly realized that it was just the evening theater crowd stumbling out from their show. But what show and which theater? Even better, which hotel? What a nice little excuse for a game of Guess the Hotel...

If you’re new to this hotel-geek brainteaser, here’s how the game works: we give you some clues, you put your guesses in the comments below, and we'll reveal identity of the hotel tomorrow.

And away we go…

· Back in the ’90s, this was one of the hottest hotels in Manhattan.
· You know, Leonardo DiCaprio kind of cool.
· This property and its sister were responsible for ushering in the whole ‘boutique hotel’ trend.
· But with so much competition on the NYC hotel landscape these days, does anyone still stay here? Well, yes. Our friend rented a suite for her birthday party and had pre-party drinks in the (admittedly quiet) bar just above the lobby.

Think you know what it is? Drop your best guesses in the comments below!

My guess....

The Paramount

Show and theater.....

"In the Heights" at the Richard Rodgers Theater....hope I'm right!

paramount

it has to be the paramount!  the bastion of cool that used to be written about in all of the mags when it first opened up.  and now, it's just, um, sad, at times.

avoid the jalapeno tequila!

but it's a great place to chill out in the winter for after work drinks as it's usually pretty quiet.
