Summer in The City: Stay a Week For Cheap Rates at NYC's AKAs

Tired of playing Craigslist Roulette to find a New York crash pad with the three Cs—Cheap, Clean, Convenient? Look, we're down with renting apartments when traveling for a week or more, but we've also seen friends visiting New York subjected to unrelenting bar noise and questionable bathroom options when they've gone the sublet route. Which is why today we're going to get behind that most uncool of concepts: the extended stay hotel. With AKA Hotels' latest deal, it's pretty hard not to.

The AKA Summer in the City promotion offers 20% off for stays of seven nights or more between July 1—September 6. But it does require booking 21 days in advance, so start planning your summer sunning in Central Park pronto.

There are four AKA locations in New York—Central Park, Times Square, Sutton Place, and the United Nations. If you're here for touristy action or proximity to summer fun, these spots will have you covered.

We stayed at the AKA Central Park during the winter and can tell you that the space and comfort of the room was comparable to staying in a friend's apartment. Only without having to tiptoe around other people's stuff during your stay and the added convenience of a Midtown hotel. (Housekeeping! A cafe! A brand new fitness center!)

When we checked, the AKA Central Park still had Summer in the City availability for the week including July 4th, with rooms starting at just $209 a night. Ordinarily, they're $295 and up.

For more photos and a video of the AKA Central Park, see our earlier coverage here.

Hi, How can we get this special rate....

Called AKA Central park, and no one knows about it.  Nothing on their site.
