You may recall that we've been following—and scratching our heads over—the curious case of the "Hotel Indigo Miami Beach". It was going to open in March, and then April, and then ... Well, then we almost went mad trying to figure out what the hell was going on, because it disappeared from IHG's online system. (If you really want to see us start to lose our minds, you can catch up here and here.)

An ominous few weeks of silence followed our last attempt at playing Sherlock Holmes, but today we are thrilled to say we can end the week knowing what the hell is going on. The revamped Deco building on Washington Ave is no longer a Hotel Indigo—it's the Wyndham Garden South Beach.

We didn't even know a Wyndham was coming to the beach, but when we were reading a press release about the new outpost we recognized the address—and definitely thought this bright blue and green room shot looked familiar. A ha! Boy, are we going to enjoy that Friday night cocktail tonight ...

Seriously, it's a relief to know that this hotel has a name and a hotel company to belong to. The jury is still out on what these rooms look like in person—and whether or not all rooms have had this beachy-bright renovation yet—but we do like the sound of Free WiFi and a glass of Wyndham's signature mint lemonade to cool off after a day in the sun.

Go forth, Wyndham Garden South Beach! Be free, be yourself! Enjoy your brand new identity!

(We hope to have more on how this all pans out next week. Stay tuned.)
