Designer Tony Chi wanted to give everyone who stays at Andaz Fifth Ave the chance to feel like a New Yorker. So there are elements such as huge sash windows inspired by the city's old factories, 12-foot high ceilings in the guest rooms, and striking black polar walls and folding doors that tuck the bathrooms out of sight. (We're glad Chi didn't decide to give guests the real experience of living in New York, the one that might involve yelling at your super to turn the heat on, and taking a bath in the kitchen.)
Speaking of the bath, though, the Andaz Splash Suite is definitely what you want to spring for if you like the idea of soaking in a large tub that sits center stage in the bathroom, gazing out the window at the lights of the Empire State Building.
And here's some very exciting news—you may get to slip into that bath earlier than you thought. While the website is taking reservations from August 1st, we hear that the hotel may open ahead of schedule in July.
Bring it on!
