Will W New York Downtown Make Its June 6 Opening Date?
We wouldn't wage any winnings on it! The W New York Downtown has been delayed too many times to count (oh, but we were counting) and now it is set to open on June 6. Or will it?
The website is doing that weird and wacky W thing where it lists an opening date but says rooms can be reserved a month later on July 6. When we plugged in June 6 in the reservations box, no rooms were available. Not a good sign. When we tried again for a week later, still no availability popped up. Eeeee.
Then we plugged in July 6 and fully expected to see a Wondeful Room for a starting rate of $359. But no, denied! There were no rooms were available! We're actually starting to get worried.
What if W makes us wait until August? Or gasp, September! Even worse, we've not really seen any pre-opening pics of this place aside from the exterior shots on Curbed, which is only fueling our anxiety further.
Someone please give us a Xanax! Or you know, just tell us what the W is going on with this hotel.
