Radisson Blu to Open First Hotel in the U.S. in Chicago
Hurrah! The U.S. is finally getting its own Radisson Blu Hotels. We've long lusted after these international properties for their cool design, fair prices and most importantly, free WiFi. And now we'll get to enjoy all of that on our own shores in Chicago.
The Associated Press says plans are underway to put a Radisson Blu Hotel inside the 81-story Aqua Tower in downtown Chicago. The Radisson will occupy 18 floors inside the building of which the rest will be condos (uh-oh) and commercial space.
Word is parent company Carlson is spending $125 million to Radission-ize those 18 floors. This could mean very un-Radisson room rates, which is probably their intent, but as always, we'll keep you posted.
