Frederick's of Hollywood Gets Into Bed with the Hard Rock Vegas

This room doesn't look so bad. Now imagine it littered with Frederick's of Hollywood lingerie. Yeah, we know.

We think this is what they call 'synergy'. It's certainly a piece of branding news that does not surprise us—not when the two brands who've decided to hook up are the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and retailer Frederick's of Hollywood.

The two companies announced a partnership today, although we're still trying to figure out exactly what mischief they'll be getting up to. The press release calls it "an integrated marketing and media agreement" and a "strategic alliance" that will bring together "two sexy and iconic brands for women." Alrighty then ...

Let's turn it over to the suits from each company to try and explain it, shall we? Here's Frederick's CEO Thomas Lynch:

"The partnership embodies the excitement of Las Vegas and the sexy look of Hollywood."

And HRH VP and CMO Phil Shalala:

"We have created an even greater opportunity for our guests to immerse themselves in the sexy lifestyle we are known for."

Apparently Frederick's and HRH will work together on social networking, cross promotion, events, and product integration. Do you think this means the mini bars at the HRH will now include stripper perspex heels?

Or will the reading material now include the infamous Frederick's catalog?

And lastly—most importantly—can the new relationship finally do something about those god-awful HRH views?
