The Dream Downtown to Sleep Until March 2011

We don't mean to get greedy, but when we get some news about one hotel from a brand or collection, we start to wonder about the others in the family. And so it was when we finally got a sneak peek at what Dream South Beach will look like when it opens this fall. We oohed and ahhed over the renderings and then immediately started to wonder: So, what about Dream Downtown?

Since we weren't the only ones—a HotelChatter reader also emailed us to ask what was up with Dream Downtown—we posed the question to the folks at Dream H.Q.

The answer isn't quite as exciting as it was for Dream SoBe—and there aren't any renderings beyond the one above at this stage—but the hotel piggy-backing the Maritime Hotel (architecturally speaking) is now scheduled to open in March 2011.

Dream Downtown does have its own section of the Dream Hotels web portal but there is little to glean from it just yet. The Dream reps seem confident, however, that next March is "more than achievable."

So there you have it. Pull out your 2011 calendar and pencil this baby in.

Could it be the first big NYC hotel opening in 2011? To quote some bloke named Will, "To sleep: perchance to dream ..."
