Michael Rock, who is in charge of the publicity strategy for the hotel told the paper:
"It's like a bottle of champagne," he said. "You would not pop the cork too soon or you'll lose the fizz."
Hee hee. (Now, in a more serious voice...) We have to agree with Rock that certain elements need to be kept under wraps but at the same time, hotels often use the secrecy excuse to cover up a mess of problems behind the scenes. We sincerely hope this is not the case for the Waikiki Edition.
Meanwhile, if you're still interested in applying to work at the Waikiki Edition, there are plenty of jobs open, including a concierge position, at Greatjobs.marriott.com.
Funny Fact: When you load up www.EditionHotels.com, the sideways O flashes all the cities that Edition will be or wants to be located in. Waikiki is not one of them.
