Have You Ever Purchased Any 'Hotel Fashion?'

April 9, 2010 at 3:42 PM | by | Comments (2)

Think about the things you can purchase from a hotel—it's usually a bathrobe, some items from the minibar and maybe the hotel's special music compilation CD, right? But these days you can not only sleep at a hotel, but dress yourself in it with expanded product lines all bearing the hotel logo. It's "Hotel Fashion." The big pioneer of this is of course W Hotels, who not only have mini stores in their hotels, but also collaborate with designers for limited edition products.

The newest items are three watches from Nooka, each decorated with a design to celebrate new W Hotel openings: Miami Beach, New York, Istanbul. They run for $150 each and are limited to 500 in quantity and it's got us thinking...who buys hotel accessories like this? We admit we're more than a little intrigued by the W Concierge "Whatever/Whenever" ring at left (and only $39), but the question is how do we feel about walking around wearing a fashionable little ad for a hotel?

Have you ever purchased something hotel-branded accessories? Do you wear it for the "cool"-factor or because you're super brand-loyal?

Items serve as souvenir for all their guests.  As far as I know, there are some people who really want to have at least one souvenir item they can get from that particular place.Stewart B
