While the Trump SoHo hogs most of the hotel limelight in the 'hood right now, let's not forget that SoHo will also get its very own Mondrian soon... But when? The latest we'd heard from the Morgans Hotel Group was "Fall 2010", but then we heard a rumor pointing to September as the specific month. We hate to sound skeptical, but could this be true?

The official line from Morgans is still "Fall", but the September rumor isn't dead in the water just yet. The Village Voice spoke to chef Sam Talbot at a benefit last month, and their report said ...

Sam Talbot revealed his plans to use "fresh, seasonal, sustainable seafood" at his restaurant at Soho's Mondrian Hotel, which will open in September. Much of it will come from the Montauk fishermen he met during his tenure at the Surf Lodge, where he was churning out fried Montauk calamari and lobster salad sandwiches.

First of all—yum. We look forward to tucking into one of those lobster salad sandwiches. And, secondly, if you hear a rumor twice, does that mean it's true? Have you heard anything about the opening of Mondrian SoHo? Share your scoop with us in comments below!
