Drink a Treetini and Morgans Hotels Will Plant a Tree

All this week we will honor Earth Day by putting the spotlight on eco-friendly hotels. Got an Earth Day Hotel suggestion? Let us know.

We need very little incentive to belly up to the bar and order a cocktail. But we'll especially drink up for a good Earth Day deal. During April, Morgans Hotel Group will plant a tree for every Treetini you order.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the hotel company partnered with VeeV for the tree-planting plan. The beneficiary of the trees will be monsoon-ravaged Tamil Nadu, India. According to VeeV, a single tree absorbs 48 pounds of carbon dioxide per year, omits enough oxygen for two people and recycles $37,000 worth of water. Morgans Hotel Group hopes to contribute 1,000 trees.

So we'll do our part and down these $12 cocktails. The refreshing-sounding Treetini is made with:
2 oz VeeV Acai Spirit
.75 oz agave nectar
4 lime wedges
6 mint leaves
Club soda

You can get a Treetini at the Mondrian Los Angeles; the Delano, Shore Club and Mondrian in South Beach; the Royalton and Hudson in New York; the Clift in San Francisco; and the Ames in Boston.
