We Can't Believe It Either: The Armani Hotel Dubai Opened Today
Today is April 27, 2010 and it is a date that goes down in hotel history as the first Armani Hotel finally opens, and not just anywhere, but inside of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
It's been five years in the making and endured countless delays, but the 160-room property on the lower floors of the Burj Khalifa is finally ready to host guests, and hopefully ones willing to pay $11,000 for the pleasure of staying in a suite. But rooms that look a bit cold and uncomfortable to us, judging from the image above, aren't the only things you can do at the Armani Hotel Dubai. No, sir. There's also eight restaurants, an Armani boutique, Armani Dolci (his sweets shop), Armani Fiori (the flower shop) and Armani Prive nightclub with the world's largest LCD screen and $800 table reservations.
Although the Prive nightclub sounds just right for the guests in the $11,000 suites, we'd stick to one of the dining options because they actually sounds promising. The Telegraph UK fills us in:
Like the rest of the hotel, the restauarants in Armani Hotel Dubai have all been personally designed by Giorgio Armani, and include Armani Peck, inspired by the famous Milanese deli; Amal, which features Indian delights; Ristorante, for traditional dishes from Tuscany and other regions; and Armani Privé, the VIP lounge, open from 9pm until 3am, and named for the design maestro’s Armani Privé couture collection
Now that they've got this major first Armani hotel open, what'll be next? Milan, of course! An Armani hotel in Milan is scheduled for next year, followed by Marrakech in 2012 and at least seven more around the world, in cities like Paris, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai.
