The Views From Press at Ink48 Are Killer (Even If Our Recent Stay Was Not)

In case you hadn't noticed the growing buzz, it's almost Hotel Rooftop Bar Season in New York. And joining the ranks of all the new hotel rooftops this past weekend was Press at Ink48. But can a big ol' outdoor drinking space make up for the very mediocre stay we had at this West Side Kimpton recently? That's the million-dollar question.

We don't have the answer for you just yet—it was a bit too chilly for us to be strolling all the way over to Eleventh Ave this weekend, just to sit outside in the cool breeze. But Press is on our Spring Hit List, so we'll be sure to bring you our verdict as soon as we can.

We can tell you that the hotel's location, while not so great for popping out for a quick bite or getting anywhere else in NYC fast, does make for a spectacular sunset. We used to live just up the street from here, with similar views of the city to the east, and the Hudson River to the west.

Also, after dark, people don't seem to mind a trek or taxi ride to their nightspot of choice (where would all those Chelsea nightclubs be otherwise?), so assuming the drinks and plates of salami are tasty, we don't see the location being a major issue for people who like to drink outside.

Press is a Pass

As written on Yelp by myself and others the service and attitude encountered at Press cannot be overcome by the view - which is fabulous. Press is too new, and too far away from the mainstream, to be so full of themselves.
