DVF-Designed Rooms at Claridge's to Open In June

Don't you love it when fashion designers play hotelier? We love ourselves some fashion hotels, so are totally psyched about this next-season news: the Diane von Furstenberg-designed rooms at Claridge's in London will be unveiled in June. Which, when you think about it, is the best time of year to sport a DVF wrap dress, so this development couldn't be more on trend.
We got excited about this project when it was announced last year and are dying to see how von Furstenberg's signature prints work alongside the beautiful antique pieces at Claridge's. The designer is also bringing out a new collection of home decor in 2011, but somehow we expect we'd be able to afford a night in one of her Claridge's rooms before we can fit out our apartment with her bedding, bath, and tabletop accessories.
Apparently, she will be weaving her chic magic on 20 rooms and suites in the landmark property, one of her favorite hotels and stomping grounds.
"To me, Claridge's is the most glamourous hotel in the world;" von Furstenberg said in a statement about the collabo. "I regard it as my home away from home. I am honored to become part of the hotel's legacy and rich design history. One of my fondest memories was when I was in London as a young, independent businesswoman and stayed at Claridge's. I knew I had made it."
We felt the same way about our first purchase of a DVF wrap dress, so we know what she means.
