Which Airport Hotels Have You Been Forced To Stay At?

There are worse places to be stranded than the Renaissance Concourse Hotel Atlanta Airport, no?

More snow started falling in NYC this morning, and it’s still blustery down south. Which can only mean more flight delays and probably some impromptu airport hotel stays to boot.

Flight cancellations and delays have become as normal as Tiger Woods having 13 mistresses this winter, and forced many a traveler into the roll of the dice that is the airport hotel.

It’s been a while since we last looked at where the cleanest and nicest airport hotels are located around the country, so let’s start a discussion to help our fellow air warriors.

Which airport hotels have you been forced to stay at recently? Which can you recommend and which should we avoid at all costs? Let us know your horror and happy stories in the comments below.

And if you’ve seen any cool amenities at airport hotels like this pool with plane views at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel Atlanta Airport, let us know about those, too. Anything to ease the pain …

    fortunate

i've been fortunate enough to not have to stay at an airport hotel because of a delay or cancellation. however, i have stayed at airport hotels for other reasons and my tried and true hotel policy applies here: If it's a new hotel, you should be ok. If it's not, start to worry.

    good and bad

Happy to say I've only stayed at a couple. Citizen M Amsterdam - fantastic. Hilton, Stansted Airport, UK - a letdown to the HIlton brand. Not up to scratch.

    Ummm

The airport itself? I tend to bite the bullet and shack up in the terminals when I'm faced with this issue. I then reward myself with a big breakfast when I survive the night. Maybe if every airport had a Yotel, I would go for those.
