We've been keeping our eye on the Hotel Palomar Chicago and its impending debut. Although the hotel's website gives a vague "spring 2010 opening," it looks like the hotel's now accepting reservations for April 8. If you can't wait till then, we found some photos of the new digs.

The Hotel Palomar, Kimpton's fourth property in Chicago, will joins the ranks of several newbie hotels in town, including theWit and the Elysian Hotel.

Though one thing that will make this property stand out from the others, literally and figuratively, is the green roof it's sprouting. The art-themed hotel is joining a city-wide eco-friendly green-roof initiative. The roof, covered with grass and vegetation, will help improve air quality, clean and retain rainwater, and add a shot of green loveliness to the urban landscape.

If you want to check out the hotel for yourself, or take a dip in the above sweet-looking indoor pool, rates for April 8 start at $119.
