What's Inside The SLS Swag Chest?

We're usually not a fan of armoires here at HotelChatter but when they are storing some serious hotel swag like this one at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, we are definitely interested.

The SLS Hotel's swag chest is located behind the concierge's desk in the guests-only lobby and it contains nearly everything you see during your stay from the bathroom toiletries to Jose Andres cookbooks, mini-bar snacks, bathrobes, caps, t-shirts and your own personal monkey bust. (The monkey is the hotel's mascot so to speak.)

Oh and the "I Am Sam" magazine headline is from the Details magazine. It's not about SLS hotelier Sam Nazarian.

We found room rates this weekend for $289 a night on the hotel's website, which is actually a rather good deal. However, a recent guest at the hotel told us the rooftop pool was a bit of a party scene with lots of skinny 20-somethings model-types lounging about. It wasn't quite the peaceful, relaxing pool scene they were hoping for.

But good thing they weren't there when the hotel was hosting the Victoria Secret's Swimsuit catalog party. Now that would make any guest self-conscious!

P.S. If you are following the Joule Hotel's Easter Egg Hunt, this Twitter tweet today says the SLS Hotel is the place to look in LA. "Haven't found it yet? SLS at Beverly Hills Hotel @SLSHotel - GO! Ask the front desk agent for the egg."
