Uh-oh. This does not bode well for the W Fort Lauderdale. The Sun-Sentinel reports that the hotel's nightclub Whiskey Blue has been cited by the city for a noise violation. Specifically, the loud music can be heard by the neighbors after 11pm.:

The police have been called multiple times, city officials said. Most recently, on March 14 noise was heard wafting from the club after midnight, the city said.

We're guessing the rumored appearance of the "Jersey Shore" crew at the hotel over the weekend didn't really help with that noise violation ever. You know how those folks like to beat the beat!

Meanwhile, this is not the first W hotel to have issues with loud noise at the property. The W Scottsdale has had many "back and forths" with the neighbors about noise and other party behavior.

Usually in these situations, the neighbors end up winning out (see The Jane Hotel's Ballroom.) But just how much it impacts the hotel business remains to be seen. We're of the thought that you should be able to get some sleep at a hotel, especially when paying upwards of $250 a night. Then again, this is Fort Lauderdale. If the loud music wasn't coming from the W, it would be coming from another nightclub on the main drag.

What do you think? Should the W turn it down or should the neighbors just deal with it?
