The Maid Is In, And Seattle's Maxwell Hotel Is Open

Now, we can't promise that your maid will be dressed like this when you check into the new Maxwell Hotel in Seattle, but this was the scene that greeted Seattle Times travel writer Carol Pucci at the hotel's grand opening party. The Queen Anne hotel officially opens its doors today, but celebrated on the weekend with various lighthearted hotel tableaux (there were also ladies frolicking in the pool).

The room captured by Pucci and posted on her Twitpic account looks like a Deluxe Queen, which you can snag for $107 a night with the Maxwell's grand opening special rate. The hotel's own online reservation system wasn't working for us this morning, but we found this rate at Hotels.com.

The Maxwell is within walking distance of the Space Needle, the Pacific Science Center, and Experience Music Project. And best of all, the hotel has free guest parking and free WiFi (and wired internet access as well). We don't know what this supervisor lady is writing on her clipboard, but we just wrote on ours: "We approve."
