These Hotels Want To Help You Spend Your Tax Refund

Are you already sweating on your tax refund? Want to use it to get away? A number of hotels are offering tax-season deals, with discounted room rates, cheap dinners, room tax breaks, and free candy bars.

First up are the Orchard Hotels of San Francisco, where the deals have clever names even if they’re not necessarily wow-worthy. The 1040 ‘EZ’ Guestroom Rate is a $10.40 discount on the hotel’s best daily rates for reservations made by April 15. Rates start at $109 a night, so at least this could bring your stay under a hundred bucks. The hotels are also doing a $10.99 entrée deal and W-2 cocktails (ie: doubles) at their respective restaurants.

These offers are available April 15–June 15, with promo code REFUND.

Meanwhile, Kimpton Hotels will celebrate your tax refunds by paying your room tax. The Sweet Tax Relief package is available at participating Kimptons and includes one night’s accommodations without room tax, no tax on a meal at the hotel’s restaurant, a late checkout, and free Payday, 100 Grand, and Sugar Daddy candy bars.

This one’s available from April 1–30, with rates starting at $139 a night, depending on the market. The code is PTAX and you can see which Kimptons are offering the deal here. (It looks like the Kimptons in Virginia would like to keep your room tax, thank you very much. Also not playing ball are some Kimpton restaurants in NYC, San Fran, and D.C.)

Have you heard of any other tax-relief deals at hotels? Planning to blow your tax refund at a luxury hotel? Tell us your plans in the comments below.
