We've all heard the hype about Edition Hotels but none of the rumored Edition hotel properties ever seem close to opening. The only confirmed Edition Hotel we know of is the Edition Bangkok which will open in 2012.

But now it looks like Edition Waikiki in Hawaii could be opening later this year. Yes, this year as in 2010! We're doing a little happy dance right now.

KHON reports that the old Ilikai's Yacht Harbor Tower in Honolulu will indeed turn into an Edition Hotel. All it needs is the wave of the magic wand jointly held by Bill Marriott and Ian Schrager. Which it seems to be getting as construction is being reported from the ground up.

Renovations to what was formerly called the Ilikai's Yacht Harbor Tower is slated to become the latest premier resort hotel chain developed by hotelier Ian Schrager and Marriott International.

Edition Hotel executives are extremely tight-lipped about the project. They won't say how many people they are hiring but an online networking site shows the hotel is looking for all positions including management, banquets and administrative assistants, to name a few.

Even though things could still fall through, it looks like Edition is quite serious about opening here. The job openings on the Marriott site are even listed for the Edition Waikiki hotel. God, we just got the tingles seeing that!

We can't glean much from the openings but one job listing is for a spa director. There's also talk of hiring Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto to open Morimoto Waikiki Restaurant. For now, it looks like the hotel is rushing to open in 2010. Hmmm...we'd love a 2010 opening but we don't really want a rushed Edition. (Heh.)

Anyone with any scoop on what Edition Waikiki will look like? Let us know!
