Pretty pots of nail polish may not quite be what we had in mind yesterday when we asked what secrets the doormen at the The Dorchester could tell us, but anyways. These pictures make us happy so we thought we had to share.

We were privy to a tour of the new (relatively – it opened last year) spa recently, and were utterly enchanted by the manicure room.

Or, rather, make that “room” – it was more of a glass-walled box within the spa, with the glass walls decorated with row upon row of gorgy nail polish from hip London brand Essie (fab colors, shame about the weird matte finish). Aren’t they pwetty?

Not as pretty as the relaxation room in the top pic. That’s plush as. Sadly, prices as as plush to match: a signature massage costs £145 for 1hr25, and a 40 minute manicure is £55. But we can dream, no?

Dorchester Spa

Wow, it's like that scene in "The Wizard of Oz" where all the characters get a complete makeover in the Emerald City before seeing the Wizard. Pretty, shiny, sparkly...

so gorgeous

one day i am going to book myself a single treatment and spend all day in that relaxation room to justify the cost
