Marriott's 'New Directions?': JW Marriott at LA Live Has Free WiFi in the Lobby

Last week, we were following the tweets of travel writer @Chic_Travel as she was doing a Los Angeles hotel tour and we got the tingles when she tweeted:

Free wifi at JW Marriott LA Live- love that hotels are embracing this

But we were skeptical. This is Marriott we are talking about here. Internet is not usually free, unless it's at a Courtyard or if you have a super-high rewards status.

Yet we checked in with the hotel's PR team and it is free in the lobby. The guestrooms still charge you for either wired or wireless--$12.95 for 24 hours. Similarly, the business center has a pay-as-you-go policy but we've seen this brand new hotel's impressive lobby and it will definitely do in a pinch when we need to catch up on our "Glee" gossip. Thanks, Marriott!
