As for the hotel itself, it opened in September 2008 and has 160 rooms, a fitness center, and the usual Hampton Inn free hot breakfast. Over at TripAdvisor, the majority of reviewers rave about the place, one calling it “one of the best-kept secrets in the city.” The same reviewer goes on to admit that it’s not hip but it is clean and new and a bargain at less than $200 a night.
Based on the location and rates alone, we tend to agree. Rooms this weekend start at just $159. Rooms at SoHo’s hotspot hotels are in the $400+ range, so why not save your cash for drinks instead? You could always indulge in one of those $18 cocktails and then hightail it back to Artifakt for a couple more cheap chasers.
This, of course, requires more diligent, first-hand research, which we shall dutifully undertake soon.
