The National Post says:
But that's not all, says Toronto mover-shaker Tony Cohen, who's the partner on this Thompson -- the first non-U. S. undertaking for the happenin' company of hotels. His new chi-chi dormitory, he confirms, will also have -- wait for it -- a 24-hour diner! Perfect for both night owls and Spoke Club members alike, and pretty big news for a part of town where, not so long ago, it was hard to find a cab late at night, and where people thought Susur Lee was crazy for opening his eponymous high-end restaurant 'round the corner
This had us quite giddy but when we hit up the Studio Gaia website, the design firm in charge of the restaurant as well as the hotel, the opening date said February 2011. Cue Debbie Downer noise. The design firm also had Thompson Toronto listed as opening in October 2010, which can't be right, can it?
Still, it looks like a trip to Toronto is definitely in the works for us soon. But we'll wait until we have a confirmed opening date before we make our plans.
