While celebs were seen all over town at South Beach's hottest hotels (even its troubled ones, it wasn't a party for everyone at the Super Bowl this weekend.
Former NFL player and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Warren Sapp was arrested this weekend for allegedly choking a woman in his hotel room at The Shore Club. In other words, he pulled a Dennis Rodman.
According to the NYPost:
Sapp entered hours later, pulled her out of bed and tried to get her out of the room, according to the complaint. The complaint says he yelled at the woman about men she had been hanging out with and men listed in her cell phone.
The woman told police Sapp choked her, threw her down on a couch, then picked her up by her shirt and neck and threw her down again - injuring her leg.
Sapp claims that he asked her to leave because he was expecting company and that the woman hurt her leg upon falling out of bed. Right. Which is why she had bruises on her neck and needed to go the hospital. Ugh.
Sapp was expected to appear on the NFL Network as an analyst during the Super Bowl but instead he was cooling his heels in jail. He's since been released on bail. Let's hope the Shoree Club has done the right thing and put him on their blacklist.
