The game itself may take place up in Davie, but South Beach is becoming quite the Super Bowl battleground. Hours after learning that The Surfcomber Hotel was re-naming itself The Bud Light Hotel, we discovered that The Catalina Hotel & Beach Club was fighting back on behalf of Coors Light.

As the official beer sponsor of the Super Bowl, Coors couldn’t let Bud Light get away with all the attention on this block of Collins Avenue, so they started wrapping the exterior of The Catalina with Coors signs. This was how it looked when work began yesterday, and more signs were going up last night.

Tonight the Coors-fest continues at the hotel, with a Coors Light Pub Crawl and Coors Light Bus serving free beer between 7–9 p.m. On Sunday, the big game will play on multiple big-screen TVs across the property, with plenty of beer and food specials on tap.

What's next? Will the Raleigh become the Miller Lite Hotel? The Delano the Michelob Ultra?

hmmm...

Of course Coors Light wouldn't let Bud get away with it! Would you?? After all The Surfcomber spent tons of money on festivities to get a load of people due to very well known performers and such. On the other hand The Catalina spent chump change to have Coors Light be there sponsor, got local bands and a few good looking woman to stand outside and they will get the same amount of people, if not MORE! Who seems to be the one with the master mind here? I think that's very obvious! :) The only thing The Catalina doesn't have is fluorescent lights and a sign but hey there saving some money on there electricity bill!

uh, bud wins

let's see
this is a no brainer. Bud Light hotel wins.
Bud Light has Usher, Jamie Foxx,
GQ party, Two stages and Hooter girls galore...
It's not even a competition, and don't even get me
started on the difference in beer either...

I know...

...I'll sound like a tool for this correction but the stadium is actually in Miami Gardens. Davie is about 10 miles north and in a different county. The Dolphins training camp is in Davie and the Colts are working out there this week which may be the cause of the confusion.
