According to our tipster:
It seems completely empty and starting to be torn down, it has also disappeared from the interwebs
True. It’s been wiped from the Sheraton’s website. Google its TripAdvisor page, and it’ll redirect you to a generic London page. It’s only when you go to the cached page that you get to see the reviews, which end in October 2009.
So we asked the folk at Starwood, and they told us:
This hotel left the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts portfolio in December and as of 1st January is currently closed, undergoing a renovation by the owner.
Intriguing. Fingers crossed that “renovation” means “bulldozing”. The poshos of Belgravia shouldn’t have to avert their gaze anymore.
Thanks to our anonymous tipster for letting us know!
