Clientele-wise, we actually found it way less depressing than places like Harrah’s and the Rio, and less gross than Sahara and Excalibur. It wasn’t classy, obvs, but there was a nice mix of ages, couples groups and everything. It was very comfortable.
Now the rooms are a different matter and we can’t speak for them because we didn’t see any. But then Vegas hotel rooms are always curious beasts – we stayed at Caesars last week and were hugely underwhelmed. TripAdvisor reviews appear to veer between love and hate for the place, so we can’t tell too well, but we’d venture to say that their room rates are pretty solid. From their calendar, there are plenty of nights in March at $34 and $40, and don’t forget that, as it’s a Harrah’s property, there won’t be any resort fee to add to that.
What next? Casino Royale is worth a gander? We’ll go check it out. Meanwhile, keep an eye on our sister website VegasChatter, where we’ll be posting a couple more Imperial Palace stories next week.
